Mark Schultz

Mark Schultz is a Senior Scholar and Director of Academic Programs at Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property.  He also serves as an Associate Professor of Law and Director of Faculty Development at Southern Illinois University.  Professor Schultz writes and speaks frequently around the world about the importance of legal institutions that support the creative and innovative industries.  He was honored by the SIU School of Law as its Outstanding Scholar in 2008, and has been a distinguished visiting scholar at the University of Botswana, where he gave public lectures on property rights in traditional and indigenous knowledge.  He has served as Chair of the Federalist Society’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, Chair of the AALS Section on Internet and Computer Law, and as an NGO delegate to the World Intellectual Property Organization.  He currently serves as a consultant on trade secrecy to the OECD and is Chair of the Academic Advisory Board of the Copyright Alliance.
