Neugebauer is currently the Chairman of the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee. Under Neugebauer’s leadership, the Subcommittee has pursued policies to provide regulatory relief for community financial institutions, protect consumers without limiting consumer choice, and enact reforms to create a national data breach and notification standard to protect the American people’s most sensitive personal financial information. Neugebauer has used his leadership position to form a consensus with his colleagues on both sides of the aisle and move critical legislation forward.

Neugebauer has been a guest on national television to discuss financial services with appearances on CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business. He is frequently quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, Reuters, the New York Times, Politico, and the Hill.
